Hello, we inherited this Sterling House Dresser. I would like to keep it, but I was just curious about its value and age.

I believe that it is mid-century vintage.

    The wood is cherry.

The maker is Sterling House, and the factory in NY state apparently burned down in the 90s.

    Size:
    Width: 59.5”
    Depth: 18.5”
    Height: 35”

    damage: scratches on top surface.

    original hardware.

    Thank you!

I'm not a furniture person, but I think you may be able to get rid of those scratches by using Howard's restor-a-finish. It is easy to use.

Hard to say. Style is pretty non-descript and could have been made for a lot of years the same way. Probably no earlier than the 50s.

Before the age of Zip Codes (1963) when state abbreviations were written as 2 letters separated by a period. See Jamestown N. Y. in the logo. I would buy 50s as Brad has posted.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

If I didn't know better I'd say it was my brother's before he passed a couple of years ago, and I don't know if he kept or sold it.....but you did say you inherited yours.....if you look at the back, did it have a mirror attached at one time??

No, I don’t think that it had a mirror, but most of them seem to have one. Thanks!

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Indications are that the company is no longer in business, though.
