I'd say India and very modern. Beyond that, dunno.

Looks 'ethnic tribal revival style' of the couple of decades that followed.
Yes, I made up that descriptive term, it was ethnic high fashion of the genre.

They've been coming out of India and similar spots for the last decade or so. A lot of the stones are glass.

The latest ones are shorter chokers. How long is yours? It looks to have little-to-no-wear?

Anton, I cannot tell if only your clasp is sterling, or if the entire chain and baubles are also cased in silver? What does it look like to you?

I've not stuck a tester on mine, don't know if they're glass or actual gems.

Probably gems, all of my Jaipuri stuff has gems. It is the gemstone capital of India.

Last time I was at my jeweler's, he showed me some beautiful gemstone pendants he'd designed in silver - said he saw no point in using gold on spec because he so had so little into the stones since they'd come from an Indian necklace. A customer had brought it to him to him to buy, he told her it was plated brass, but he would buy the the stones - she went off angrily, saying she knew it was solid gold, but came back a few days later, since other buyers told her the same, but none even wanted the stones.

Looking at close-ups of this piece on my laptop now, rather than my phone, would wonder if, other than the S-hook, it's silverplated brass...

This doesn't answer my question as to how long is it?

Cheryl is right to mention if the hook alone is silverplated brass. I wondered the same but failed to mention it.
