This brooch and the earrings are marked Sterling - B.B No period after the second B. Can anyone tell me who made it and when?

I did try that SIS - but there were a few who sometimes marked their jewelry B.B. I'll have to go back and check more carefully.

I think it's probably Bliss Brothers. That's a 50s set, best guess, and the design is something I've seen come out of the Attleboro Mass area and Rhode Island as often as not. That's where they were.

    Thank you!
I waffled abut buying it because the set cost all of $4. I could see it was marked but couldn't even read that it was sterling.
In the end it was just too cute to leave behind.

This set reminded me of a set my mom had that my daughter used in her wedding brooch bouquet along with some other family pieces and misc. Now you got me wondering if they were sterling too and don't think I ever looked.

Do they put some kind of a coating over this shiny sterling so it doesn't tarnish?

Rhodium. @say_it_slowly - that big butterfly in the bouquet looks like enameled silver, either Italian or Chinese with odds on Chinese export ware. The smaller one should be checked too, especially if it's silver color. That could be Scandinavian...or Japanese enameled brass. Can't see from here.

Yea the big butterfly is enameled sterling and probably from the 1970s I think. My mom loved butterflies and my dad would often find nice ones to give her as presents. My dad was of Norwegian ancestry so quite a number of pieces my mom had are Norwegian. When she died we divided up her jewelry which was mostly costume and I ended up with a bunch that no one took. I've given it to family members if they seemed interested and when DD1 decided to do a brooch bouquet I was thrilled that she took several pieces. She's keeping them which would have made my folks very happy:)

I always loved the rhinestone aqua and clear similar to bookahtoos and it worked perfectly right down to her color scheme.

Well I googled rhodium plating and it seems it is a good thing.

I'm not fond of it, because you can't test plated pieces without damaging them. It's fine for costume pieces.
