    Hello again,
I wonder if anyone can recognise what is the engravings of the below stamp case and what did they meant.
A link to read about it would be great.
    Thank you.

Hard to read. Does it say "Oporto"? The city in Portugal?

That would make sense to me, especially if it's a British stamp case, or a Portuguese one. As in "souvenir of" for British tourists or "Put your Portuguese postcard stamps in here" for sending cards back to Britain from holidays.

    Thank you for your reply.
Yes, the case has British hallmarks inside, I will post the photos tomorrow. As far as I remember the hallmark is older than 100 years.
Ok, so now we have establish that is Portuguese “Oporto” or “Oportu” , haw about that capital C and the 4 interlocked with B, what does that mean?

That's a G not a C. But beyond that I have no idea what that stands for.

4B inside of a C? Looks like a company logo to me.

The UK has massively strong links with Portugal and specifically Oporto. The great port houses there mostly started as British companies, so you get British surnames for Portuguese people. I'd suspect that is the link to your wee case. Cockburn or Croft perhaps.

If its a G then there's Grahams Port House in Porto, 1890

Thank you, below is a photo of the hallmarks. The makes mark does start with a G, I think.
This is amazing information, thank you all .

We need a closer, focused picture of the mark, Simona. Even zooming to 300% could not sharpen the image.

Could well be, although that looks like the Chester assay office. Unless it’s a very worn leopard head.
