    Good evening, happy Sunday!

I got this necklace last year in a lot but I never put this up as I didn't think much of it, but recent threads plus a couple of factors have me questioning myself!

It needs a good clean, VERY lightweight. The chain, size, and style makes me wonder if this isn't the cheapy/low quality more recent necklace I thought it was.

The 'stones' look like plastic to me, but the settings are nice. Its stamped rather than filigree (thanks Any;)). Zero markings anywhere.

    It measures 22cm/8.7in when closed.

Was I right the first time or do I not know what I'm talking about? Thanks!

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

Maybe this might help a little bit?

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I don't know the answers, but that would be very pretty when cleaned up!

I’m inclined to just post war German.

Definitely older, but not old. If the "stones" made to look like turquoise are lucite, seconds on German. The chain is worn down to the brass, so probably 50s to mid-60s. Later on it would have been aluminum.

Good afternoon! Sorry for the delay, its been a rather busy week/end.

Thanks very much for the insight everyone! Its not really my thing but I have to say its very pretty on so I might have to keep it for now. Didn't expect it to have any age to it at all at the time of purchasing, though I probably should have done as the lot had lots of things that weren't new.

Thank you @evelyb30 for the info on it being brass! I would have spent hours trying to get all the 'dirt' off

I'll spend some time cleaning it and show you all how it looks after. :D Hopefully that photo will be better than the ones above, I just could not keep my hands steady so apologies!

Yes dirt...I hadn't looked at it hard enough to tell that was the metal and not tarnish :hilarious::hilarious:
