st clement france cup

hi, the cups say 5004 st clement france, the saucers have Lynnville Peint main france.. are they suppose to go together?

Surely they must. Peint main just means hand painted.

 

is this called majolica stoneware?

 

The people who actually know this field will be along in time. I've hit my knowledge limit on this topic.

All I learned is that St. Clement and Luneville were different companies but came under the same ownership in 1922. Your dishes are not majolica, which has a white underglaze.

Suspect your delightful cup & saucer fall under: After 1920 the production consisted of dinnerware of fine earthenware (often with old decorations)

 

It's spongeware. See that border? Typical. Definitely not majolica or faience, which have tin glazes with white underneath. Yours are spongeware decorated pottery. Luneville did sponged faience as well.
