Featured Square opening evening bag Dutch scene

A trip to the charity shop yielded this interesting evening bag with an unusual square hinged opening mechanism.
Great idea for anyone who needs to rummage around to find something!
The metal work shows a Dutch scene but no idea if it’s Dutch or not.
The only marks are Pat Appl’d For.
Any idea of origin or date please?

Perfect design, it takes me ages to find something in a handbag.

The scene is Dutch, the bag is American Hollandmania.
Probably inspired by the dress of Walcheren, Zeeland, in the southeast of the country.
The lady on the left is a bit like your Dutch-inspired lady, the more elaborate headdress on the right is for girls:
