Featured SPIRIT OF ECSTACY - SORT OF!!!!

So, Firstly I did not want to crash @wildrose's post on her great angel! But it was true what I said about Mom and her Rolls' and what she had made....sort of....I hadn't looked at it in so long I nearly forgot.....and gave it a quick polish before posting!!! I have never TOTALLY understood her meaning, but I do know she read her bible every day and had her favorite verses and poems, so with the key, it's a little puzzle. Don't think the key is gold, but it's heavy. The casting is 7-1/8" to the top and the 'spirit' is 6-1/2" to top of her wings. Key is just about 2" and is like 2 dolphins with open mouths on a ball. Some one of these days I HAVE to have a glass of wine out of it!!!!! Have had it tucked away for 15 years now!! Here 'tis!! Oh, she had her favorite verse inscribed on the bottom.......and I JUST figured out those letters.....it's the man who made it....or his son!!!

nice key too..... but i don't see the connection..

 

Love the chalice. Is the key a barrel key, the hollow kind that slips over a post in the lock? Looks more like a paperweight than a working key. And they are dolphins.

 

Gives new meaning to 'Spirit of Ecstasy'.

 

THAT'S my puzzle!!!! Not sure I do either Komo!! Unless it had something to do with "the key to her heart".....but I just dunno......

 

Not a barrel key, Bronwen, just pure SOLID....knowing Mom, it COULD be gold, but I don't know.....she left so many questions for us......and now it's just me.......ah well.....onward and upward!!
