Unfortunately, this was not mine but I sure would love to find a couple. ;):smuggrin::smuggrin:

I stumbled across this pin earlier this week & was awe-struck. At the time it had quite a few bids & was up to about $350.00 with an insane number of watchers.

It ended earlier today. It sold for $1,914.00 with 37 bids from 17 different bidders. :jawdrop::jawdrop:

Yep, these Schreiner ruffle pins are off the charts these days.

I spotted a really nice Schreiner brooch at a local online estate auction about 6 months ago. I rarely bid on these auction sites that have been taking over the in-person estate sales, but was definitely planning to bid even though photos were minimal (no photo of back, etc.) It wasn't a ruffle pin, but did have matching earrings.

In the end sold for $1,395.

Quote-'Schreiner of New York made many, many unmarked brooches. Some of these are quite easy to identify once you’ve handled marked versions simply because the same settings were used with different stone combinations, or in different colors. Other pieces are quite unique, but still have attributes of note that point to Schreiner.'...wow-one of the upper tier marques of costume land ! My brain is small, but still has the capacity for amazement.
Think I'd rather have this than a 2K Pyrex Casserole (no offense to the Pyrex Speculators).

I dont have many regrets about things Ive gotten shed of,but Lord do I regret selling all my costume brooches ! I had some spectacular unsigned ones, who knows what they were ! At the time I sold mine they were fetching ok money, and I convinced myself I didnt need to keep them.Fool I was !

certain things have skyrocketed in the last 5-10 years.my old buddy's pretty well-off,but he knows not to bid against the young 'techies' (tekkies ?).lots of my stuff went for OK money in the early 2000's-but now, best not to look !
