    Hi All,

Hoping that someone can help me identify this piece.

I got ait at an auction with a load of other random things and don't know anything about it. It appears old though and possibly pre-Columbian? Just a wild guess really!

    The largest dimension is 10cm / 4"

    Thanks a lot,

Mesoamerican style (Mexico/Guatemala). That style of face I associate with figures from Teotihuacan. But there has been an active trade in reproductions and souvenirs in that area since at least 1906, when the Mexican government began official excavations. Looting had been going on since the middle of the 19th century.

    Thanks Brad

Thanks a lot again 2manybooks :) Some really fascinating objects and sites there, would love to visit someday. I suspect an older souvenir then, though maybe I wouldn't be able tell if it was a modern object. I'll do some more research now I know what to google.
