I hope everyone had a wonderful christmas! I sure did. I'm using my new photobox and a few days off to filter through the last of the objects I've picked up.

These were from the latest lot, what are they? The one on the far right looking like some sort of pen/pencil with the tip snapped off. The far left is a stamp of some kind? The big one has been punched in at the bottom, any idea what it says? I think Sgt Liftutch-something, and the date is June 20th. It also has shcrodinger lines so ivory! :joyful:

The brass one is probably a lighter made from a bullet. "Trench Art".

Sure looks like it was made from a bullet casing. The writing on the cigarette holder looks like Polish or maybe Lithuanian.

Oh lovely thanks so much Komo! Looking at it now, of course that's a lighter haha, I had it upside down and was rolling it across the table :hilarious: Missing a piece I think?

Trench art...are we talking between the wars? Could they all be that old then?

Well it looks like they'll be in my possession for the time being, I'd really prefer to move them on to someone who will appreciate them more but it looks like you need a licence for selling everything ivory in the EU. We do love our paperwork

The lighter may well have been made DURING the War. Spent ammo was a favored item to make gifts from. Not sure of the rest, but that holder has to be old too.

It's missing the bit with the mark on it;that's just a handle.

The lines in ivory are Schreger, not shcrodinger. ;)

It's easier to understand a cat in a box than it is Lithuanian.:D:D:cat::cat::cat:

Probably not; it's got square foot, which wouldn't fit very many pipe bowls.
