Picked these up for a couple of dollars. I am not sure what they are other than the fact that they are 10k.

At first I thought this was a hat pin and it quite possibly is. However, it is a lot shorter than most hat pins so what is it? Also, what is the little ring loop for?

Next I thought this was a tie clip but it is too short? Any other ideas? Also there is a mark but I have no idea what it means....

Is there a cracked seam on the ball? Both appear to be hand engraved, the clip crudely done.

It had a guard chain or may have been connected by fine chain to a second, smaller stick pin. Looks large enough to be worn on the lapel of a coat.

No cracked seams on the ball. There are seams all around it, as if they just wrapped the gold over some other metal ball. But no not damaged.

This is like the part of a pair of clips to hang the napkin around your neck but those I had were joined with a very fine chain.

It is another one of those 'bell-to-ball bead constructions', like we had in the thread with the possible Javanese beads.

That is the first association I had as well.
The second thought was a possible lingerie clasp, as opposed to a pin. The pair pictured here have a fold over clasp (photo of back), a different construction, but maybe there were also lingerie pins with a snap clasp:

The question with lingerie clips is if they are made in the 20th century, those from kyratango is 20th cenrury too looking at the technique used, the part here is not more than 50-60 years old, when i can find the pair i have(when not molted…), i put some pictures.

It could be a baby clip, for closing baby's dresses etc.
    I'd love to see yours.
