One thing kind of nice about Maynard’s I like, they don’t claim a dynasty or circa, leaving it all up to the buyer’s knowledge or lack there of. As the old saying goes, “If you can’t run with the big dogs, stay on the porch and play with the puppies.”


I’m still on the porch, but I’m on the bottom step watching the big dogs.

 

There are only two jewelry lots in the auction, but both were jaw-dropping coral. They had come buy me estimates on them.

 

@mmarco102 .. Their write ups are almost non existent ..... so it's buyer beware , but they do get some very nice quality items.

@evelyb30 ..... with some exceptions...... they low estimate all the time...on many of their better items........ drawing in the knowledgeable buyers !!

 

i'm no coral expert or even close, but I'd grab any of them and run if they turned up in an estate sale or rummage without attribution...or a big price tag!

because they run out of Vancouver....... they get some pretty wild Chinese , and Japanese merch.....

 

Some of the closed items went below estimate, but not many. Mostly the odd ducks. I try to go after the stuff that "doesn't fit". Everyone else is after the main event so the random bits often go well under.
