I do! I think anyone who can chip carve figures like this is an artist BWDIK? Primitive and fun! This figural group reminds me of the Italian Enri figures but it is signed D.H.R or D.M.R and dated '89. The work is titled 'Sataday Nite Poker' and I can't find anything like it. There are no other marks/inscriptions. There are so many details in this group - one 'player' has a card next to his foot and there is a spittoon, etc. Tallest height of one cowboy 11.75 in., the base is 11.5 square.
    Thanks for looking! IMG_3829.JPG IMG_3830.JPG IMG_3831.JPG IMG_3832.JPG IMG_3833.JPG IMG_3827.JPG IMG_3828.JPG IMG_3823.JPG IMG_3824.JPG IMG_3825.JPG

It's definitely Art! Now whether it's Fine Art is a difference of representation and marketing. ;) It has a lot of character for sure.

I'd call it folk art. Which is art to me. Not fine art, but just as important in people's lives.

There is a ton of work in it. Even has floor planks. It's pretty impressive and must have taken a while to make this. I agree with the "Folk Art" designation. Cool!

You might look into "caricature carvers", too. The features are exaggerated and I think would fall into that category.

Thank you! That was the terminology I was looking for! I found a group on facebook that cover this very topic! I will join and see if anyone has any information. I'll update when I find out!

The one in the red looks like Lady Elaine from Mr. Rogers Neighborhood!
