I originally thought this was Southern Pottery, but I know some Native Americans used the 2 tone color clay. This stands 11" tall and is signed on the base. Is this Native American?

Say, That's what I thought. I ask a Southern Pottery Group on Facebook. Moderator says maybe Studio.

I'm not familiar with it. The "two tone" clay is actually a result of the firing process, and an indication it was fired in an outdoor bonfire or pit, not in a kiln.

The color of the clay itself isn't that of any traditional southwest pueblo pottery, but you do see it in pots from elsewhere...the southeast, Mexico, parts of Africa, etc.
