Some Kind of Old Knife

Really batting 1000 with some of the things I am finding. Don't know much about knives. as a whole this measures 16 3/4". Blade alone is 10 1/2". Has an impressed design and 1827 or 1821 stamped as well. The case has velvet on it which nowadays you don't see. Also the sheath is cork lined. Any clues?

 

It is a modern Indian reproduction knife. Possibly a Sikh ceremonial knife.

 

at 1st glance some type of Greek souvenir dagger....made for the tourist market in the .....ummm....80's or later.
Earlier and the velvet would not look as fresh.
The blade ....has no fighting quality...& is just for show.
The date..if that is a date , reflects the knifes historical beginnings, as it's modeled after an early design.

I searched Ebay and I find more similar listed as Indian Islamic.

 

The one I've shown has
a very very similar handle shape
a similar blade with fanciful etching
a sheath with short chain, and wire wrapping and turned up end.

Please...show me any weapon from India or Islamic MFG ,,,,that comes even close .....& I'll consider it !

& as you can see your sheath skimps on the metal.....so likely a lot newer that 1980's...............maybe 2000's.......!
