Some German WW2 Badges

For anyone who knows this stuff you'll know the inside joke... in terms of value this is like comparing a Ferrari to a dirt bike lol

Pictured is a Panzer (Tank) Badge and an Anti Partisan Badge

 

Can't say as I've heard of either. I think the Panzer badge must be more common and it's not surprising that a badge would exist specific to a particular branch of the military.

The anti-partisan badge is more surprising to me, but I guess it wouldn't be if I had that sort of mindset.

 

The anti-p. badge, not the final, official name, was authorized on 30 Jan 1944, and came in bronze, silver, and gold finish, depending on number of missions or sorties completed. Since they were only issued for about 14 mos, there aren't that many around now.

 

Apparently there was a Luftwaffe Panzer badge also issued in '44, so I expect they're pretty rare as well. And then you've got the different grades.

 

Yeah like stated Anti Partisans are fairly rare where as panzers are common value wise your talking $250 compared to $4000+ for my silver anti p

JMHO. the Bandenkampfabzeichen is one of the most faked in recent years and the provenance is very important. that they fought "Partisanen" face-to-face and other BS is a euphemism of the first order, it was given for killing hidden and unarmed people, mostly Jews that had been escaping the former bigger actions of the Einsatzgruppen (police-regiments that became "normal" policemen after 1945....).

 

Your definitely right. It's HEAVILY faked and what it represents is reprehensible but I'm a firm believer in the fact that if we remember the history... its less likely to repeat itself

Germany is undergoing a huge wave of "revisionism" at the moment, supported by statal TV and government, where they whine around how badly the Germans were treated after the war...

didn't the Army have an Air Force......at one time ?

 

The Navy has an Air Force....& I've never seen a plane float......well...except for a float plane !!

it's a normal Panzerkampfabzeichen and has nothing to do with the Luftwaffe. I'm always flabbergasted about the BS that is publicised on non-German sites.
