We have a finds thread and I thought it would be a good idea to have a sold thread.

I'm thinking of retiring within the next week and the next 5 years.

If I can't lift heavy stuff then its time to chuck it.

I have obtained tons of antiques and artifacts and have 3 Victorian stables and a Dutch barn stacked to the rafters.

At home I have lots of smaller valuable / collectable/ perishable items and it all has to go.

I decided to list just smaller paper items on eBay and I was very surprised at the prices realized.

I recovered around 1000 British & European 1950's Football (Soccer) programmes a few years ago, I listed a few at £0.99 each.

This one sold for £23 ($28)

An empty carboard Bucherer watch/jewellry box I got about 3 years ago , I knew as soon as I saw it it would fetch money.
    It sold for £35 ($43)

    Over £100 ($122) with 3 items

I just shipped 27 paper items over the last two weeks and did a pretty penny, the shipping was free to me as I found the stamps in the clearances.

    Wow on the cookbook!

One thing I love about selling paper is how easy it is to pack and ship!

And up to now not one thing has been antique.

The fun starts and the big money when I sell my coins, banknotes and war medals probably 5 years to come.

    Congrats on the sales!

I'm surprised they let you list the Boucherer box. I listed a Cartier ring box once, and it got cancelled about an hour before the auction ended.

My father's first home computer was a Sinclair. No monitor, he had to plug it into the TV.

I dunno how ancient you may be...but keep in mind that life is short, nasty an' brutish...with heavy emphasis on the short! 5 years may sound like a long time, but one never knows. Don't postpone, at all! Good luck, an' best wishes!

I have about 5 years worth of eBay stuff to sell, but true I could drop dead tomorrow, I'm 67 next birthday but still physically fit and have no ailments and don't take any medication.
My knees hurt a bit sometimes as do my shoulders.

I play fight my dog quite a bit and always come off worse,
but he's gonna get older quicker than me.:D

    Wow congrats Davey.
    Love the cookbook sale.

Yes paper goods are so easy to ship. Cookbooks can bring nice prices. If you have more, post them now during the holiday time.

All the best with what you decide to do.

@daveydempsey - So are you saying that you are going to give up the house clearance business soon & spend the next 5 years selling off all the bountiful treasures you have found? Will you still do the boot sales?

The best part of eBay is that you can do as much or as little as you want & if you want you can do it in your jammies. ;):happy::happy:

    Retiring would make Buzz happy.

Davey may have to switch to a We Buy Militaria etc instead of clearing a whole house. Easier to store little bits too. It's one reason I specialized in jewelry - too many holes where muscles is supposed to be. After the third surgical repair (that partially failed) I quit picking up anything over 10 pounds and jewelry fit the bill.

My landlord has got planning permission to build 2 houses where the stables and barn stand, he said he's not going to do anything until I leave.
He's also got planning for 3 more houses at the other side where the tennis courts are.
    He's given up tennis because he's 90 :D
