Hello everyone new to the forum not new to collecting all sorts of vintage/antique items. Was helping my great grandmother go through some things that she wanted me to have and came across this old adding machine, its in nearly perfect condition (small wear on a few keys and the hand crank). It has 2 rolls of paper that is in perfect condition and the hand crank, adding functions and printing still work as if it was just made (gotta love that old engineering!).

I can't find really any info about this item such as when exactly it was produced (most results that are close to this model in style say 1925-1935), or anything at all about its current Retail price.

Any help in finding out more would be very appreciate as I think she was just as surprised finding it as I was, we both really would love to know more! Thanks everyone and happy collecting! (I will also be adding more items I need help with info very soon)

Attached to the post is a JPG image that isn't the greatest quality but linked below is a google drive hosted PNG image of far superior quality, thanks again!

Lots of company history on the internet.

    L. C. Smith & Bros. merged with the Corona Typewriter Company in 1926 to form Smith & Corona. The company took over the Portable Adding Machine Company in 1934 which added an additional product line. Smith & Corona became known as Smith-Corona in 1946. That then is your earliest possible date.

This looks like the introduction of your machine with a new "color-speed keyboard" in a 1949 ad.

OMG Debora you really are a legend! I can't believe how quick the general question was answered.

Ok I guess the only thing I'm still wondering is in current markets and given the shape (only min wear from usage, still functions 100%) anyone have even a ballpark? Not that I think I would be selling it soon, but its always nice to know.

Also I was looking for total sales data but alas it was a long ago and different time for big data.

There seem to be a lot of vintage Smith-Corona adding machines around. I'd check with Completed vs. Sold listings on eBay first to see where collector interest lies.

We have one of those in the attic. It never occurred to me that we could sell it. Silly me. There is always someone out there who wants your widget. I've taken to selling sand from the local beaches. I didn't even know this was a thing.

My grandparents had on of those in their company office back in the 50's (when I was growing up. I'm pretty sure I played around with it and may have used one in my first job in the 60's.

when I see how slow certain state agencies add the people with Corona up - there must be millions around...
