Featured Small Satsuma? Cobalt vase Illegible mark, help with age.

    This awesome little vase stands a whopping 5" tall.
    Shows lots of wear to the gold, and the mark is all but a blur.
    I am pretty sure it is Satsuma and was thinking an earlier piece but thought I would ask here.

    I love that scene with the lanterns. With that gilding, I'm thinking early 20th c. But I stand to be corrected.

    The paintings are gorgeous. The base is...a mess. Neater than if I wrote it though!

    Based on the quality of the decoration I’d agree. Good but not Meiji good. Earlier to mid’ish 20th. Maybe even past the halfway point of the middle. I like it!
