Featured Small Indian? Side table/stand

Hi all

Bought this today from a house clearance shop (£15), never buy furniture, but this is small(12" tall) and comes apart easily for posting

Looking online these seem to come from India, and there looks to be varying quality/age ones

Hoping my is of a better quality, maybe older?

Much better quality, in fact I have rarely seen this quality in this type of carving. Most look very mass produced, yours looks like someone really cared, and had talent.

I don't know why sellers call them Anglo-Indian, it is a traditional Indian style, nothing Anglo about it. Keyword spam.

The bottom assembled Pictures don't do it justice, it's so wee and cute, will try and get a better shot of it tomorrow

 

Agree re quality. Seen a lot of inexpensive imports but nothing that didn't look throwaway.

I have one of the generic ones around somewhere. The OP's is pretty sweet. It looks like it may have had a glass topper or maybe it was supposed to.

 

Agreed,niciest one I have see. We also get alot of the cheap copy ones going around.

 

Totally agree it’s better than any I’ve seen by leaps. Are the feet peacocks?

 

that's a lot of quality work, for 12 inches........ sweet !!
