I`m hoping @Taupou comes along and tells me this is an ultra rare Native America basket.

However in my own mind I think its a schoolgirls craft project or tourist junk. :(

I'm pretty sure these are made in China, but I sooooo hope I'm wrong and that Taupou comes along and proves me wrong!!:)

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

I've seen similar described as "Vintage Sea Grass Baskets"... whatever that means.

Sorry I'm late. Absolutely right...made in China. Sold frequently on eBay as "Sweetgrass" baskets, or "Seagrass" baskets, or "Native American Indian" baskets. But when you can buy them at nearly any thrift shop for 99 cents or less, or new ones at Michaels or JoAnns, that should be a clue.

But I'm not giving up. Someday I really want to be able to tell someone they've got an authentic and rare Indian basket. I hate being the one who always seems to have to break the bad news that it was made in China...or Pakistan...or South Africa.

I used to see the same ones in the original version of Pier One, coming out of China for not much. This was back when it was a store worth visiting.
