Does anyone know if this small bowl has a specific function? I was thinking perhaps it was used with an old scale?

    It is 4 and 1/4 inches wide by 1 and a 1/2 inches high. SmallCopperBowl1.jpg SmallCopperBowl2.jpg SmallCopperBowl3.jpg SmallCopperBowl5.jpg

I don't have an answer to your question about what it would have been used for, but it looks like hammered brass to me with copper rivets on the handles only.

Is four and a half inches measuring handle to handle, or the diameter of the
    bowl only?

Cooking. Looks the shape of a wok.

Oops just saw the size. I still think it's for cooking, but the contents would be very small,

    It's from handle to handle.
