Featured Small floral jug

    Found this today. Another thing that I won't be able to shift because I bought with my heart and not my head. Although a bit naive, it is very attractive. It's quite possibly painted by an amateur. There are the numerals 35 and two parallel score marks on the base about 10 mm long. It stands at 12.5cm tall.

    Interesting. Looks like the handle is molded in the middle for better grip. It's charming. C. 1870 I think.

    Okay thanks for info. Do you think the decor is original or an amateur job?

    Ps never noticed the handle before. It is nice and tactile

    It is original, and for all its look of "hastiness," it is quite well done. The painter/paintress may have been paid by the pot!

    I like it. There is definite artistic quality there, and the colours compliment each other well

    You could be right on the date, but I think there are aesthetic design elements plus no markings on the base which made me think earlier.
