Not sure if "Tribal Art" is the right spot, but people seem to post baskets here.

What can you tell me about this little one? It apparently sold for 50 cents at some time.

    Thanks.

I hope it wasn't a mistake changing my Avatar. I was getting over it a bit, and now I'm crying again. Photo from 2005.

    I know how you feel.:(
I'm sorry I brought it up, but maybe it does help seeing the photo every day. You two were clearly close, I can feel the love and the trust. Thank you for making a kitty happy.

Fine to acknowledge it, AJ. It's always kindness shown that gets to me. I just loved that little fur ball! She had the perfect home with us cat lovers, that's for sure.

    Back to the basket...

Not thinking this basket it anything too great, but was at a sale that had a few nice older things. They also priced it at 50 cents. Just wondering if it was a tourist piece, or even mass produced. I'm terrible at baskets! Happy to hear thoughts.

yes it's a piece made for sale
yes, they made many many of them.
it's still a lovely little ash basket in great condition..
the cord suggests it from the 40's or 50's ...

    likely Mohawk...

Muffy, over to the left, and I totally understand and sympathize. I lost Muffy a year ago...and am not over it yet, and may never be. And still haven't been able to change the avatar.

After losing the last of my beloved kitties I was heartbroken. I decided never to put myself through that again. And due to my health I couldn't have cared for a cat anyway.

Circumstances have changed, for the better and unfortunately far worse, and I ended up adopting a furry sweetie again.
She was found as a kitten out on the streets, taken to a shelter where she was never socialised, scared of everything that moved or made a sound.
No one wanted to adopt her because she was so panicky, but when I saw her I fell in love with her.
Now she's with me in a quiet home, and she is thriving, learning, playing (which she had never done), and becoming a 'normal' housecat. She really is the sweetest little thing, loves to cuddle, and she takes my mind of things.
