Hi all! I am new here, but not so new to the antiquing community in whole! Being said, I am STUMPPED for the first time! I picked up this lowry piece today, however I am not able to find it ANYWHRE! Ive looked high and low, through fb market to GRPM data base. I am in hopes one of you lovlies can lend a hand in identifying the furniture make/model!
Hello Rarities! Unfortunately you seem to have used a method for attaching your picture that does not allow us to make them larger so we can see more details. Therefore I am only guessing at this, but is the little sticker on the lower image a mover's tag or something else? Did you use the instructions in this thread or some other method? https://www.antiquers.com/threads/posting-a-thread-and-uploading-pictures.15990/
I may have fixed the issue. Thank you for the advice. I believe the tag to be an original catalog tag. It reads “Lot No. RT0053 037”
Unfortunately what you did to separate them, still did not make it possible to expand the images. Whatever that little sticker is, it isn't going to help you find other desks by Sligh much less find asking or sold prices. Are there no stenciled item or serial numbers in the desk? @verybrad
From what I've been able to find, the company operated as "Sligh-Lowry" from 1940-68. The drawer doesn't appear dovetailed? If indeed not, I'd be inclined to think it toward the latter part of the above date span.
