Greeting from sunny (well, not now, as it's past midnight) and shaky (earthquake last night) Portugal.
On a (long) summer break here, but not taking a break from my urge to buy things :), so here I am once again asking for your help with my latest purchases:
    image0.jpeg

First spoon (bottom row): no idea who the makers is, and how old this is
    image1.jpeg

Second spoon: By Art(hur) Krupp, for Dutch shipping company, Koninklijke Hollandsche Lloyd (they used this name from 1908 until 1936), and the Krupp mark seems to be the one used between 1891 and 1927, so this spoon would have been made somewhere between 1908 and 1927.

    Fork and spoon: No idea...

mark looks a bit like this one

    Next spoon, engraved with '53':

The animal head (horse?) looks like one of the James Watts marks, but his marks all seem to have the head over a chevron.

    To be continued ...

The last one Ellerman Line was a UK cargo & passenger shipping company.
It became one of the largest shipping companies in the world.

Do you know if that logo was used in a specific era?
To me, the flag looks most like the 3rd one of the 1860-1900 row (https://www.silvercollection.it/ENGLAWALKER&HALLDATE.html), but Ellerman Lines Ltd was established in 1902, right?

And is the 's' simply the mark for silverplated, and not a date letter?

Is it just me, or am I seeing Alpaca and pewter marks along with the silverplate?

I had missed the info on the site that Art. Krupp did indeed produce Alpacca Silver pieces.

Which one would be the pewter mark?

I'm not postive, that's why I asked, but in this country Dutch marks often mean something is pewter or white metal. Don't ask me why.

haha, yeah, usually the somewhat shiny things I find in the Netherlands have the pewter angel marks. Almost every cup, cutlery, decanter, etc. I find there, has that mark. So I was pleasantly surprised to find the Christofle cups I posted a few weeks ago, in a store that has a whole shelve filled with Dutch (and occasionally German) pewter stuff.

I've seen a pile of silverplate just marked Holland 90 too. (aka plated)

Not really where I can check anything, but the first is English nickel silver, 'Albata Plate', the crown on silverplate, etc. went out of use in the 1890s (1898?), the maker might be in the mark at left, but I can't make it out.

The second is most likely French silverplate, or possibly Belgian.

The third looks vaguely familiar, but I'm not sure why - it has nothing to do with American silver maker James Watts.

    Thanks!
I already suspected the AP could be Albata Plate. I had found a site where that abbreviation was mentioned, but I couldn't find a definitive answer in combination with the crown. So, thank you for the confirmation.
Any idea what that second mark is depicting? I only managed to find it on one site, where it was mentioned as replacement of a crown mark, but the info there wasn't helpful, as the description said that the crown was replaced by ..."another mark" :shifty:
