I assume the wooden center is a replacement. Guessing it was either mahogany or mirrored originally. So assuming the center was meant to be removable was this just to make cleaning easy or is there another reason for this? It occurred to me it may have been a plateau rather than a tray but since it’s not footed that seems less likely than a tray. 92F2613C-E257-4CE2-901D-2CEE11746D2C.jpeg 059B98D4-1454-4E41-9F68-95EDA41B11B4.jpeg 3973F4AD-FEF7-4124-A48C-27E9BA19FF89.jpeg

Hmm yeh that crossed my mind but not sure I searched that term or saw examples definitively defined as such. Thanks. So the point is that you can cut on the wood and then probably clean it easier?

Good to know, makes sense. Maybe with charcuterie being popular someone will actually use it.
