Silverplate candlesticks w/ spiraled ....lucite (?)

What era do you think for these. No marks I can find. Both the top section and base neatly unscrew for polishing the silverplate sections. At first I thought the base was glass but now thinking some kind of clear plastic, lucite or similar.
