Hello, I recently bought a walking canne with silver handle that represents a lion. It is probably marked 800 (for silver) in a rectangle, AP in another rectangle and something I can't properly read, might be ESCMU or FSCMU or ESCHU or FSCHU. In any case I would like to find aut if possible who made this silver handle. Thank you all in advance.

    The mark was upside down.

    Here is how:
    From @Aquitaine
To start, IF you're using a cell phone, you might try emailing EACH photo to yourself.....as a MEDIUM sized image. Once that's done, you can load 10 photos in each 'post' AND DON'T HESITATE TO ASK QUESTIONS IF YOU HAVE ANY!!! I'm also going to list below a couple of ways to get your images up.

Each image MUST be UNDER 1 MB....
There are instructions on site here on how to reduce the size of your image, if that is the problem......you are allowed up to 10 images per post!!! Here are some links to the instructions:

    If on the computer:
    https://www.antiquers.com/threads/posting-a-thread-and-uploading-pictures.15990/

    If on an iPhone:
    https://www.antiquers.com/threads/resizing-photos-on-i-phone.35097/

And if on an Android phone:
    https://www.antiquers.com/threads/using-an-android-phone-for-pics-on-antiquers.41709/

ALSO, JUST BEFORE you hit "Post", be sure to click on the VERY TOP IMAGE in your list that says to "POST EVERY IMAGE FULL SIZE"....it will do the rest for you!!!

The partial mark "SCHU" is for "GESCHÜTZT", German for REGISTERED.

  9. Thank you very much, that's truly interesting, I thought it was french but now I understand that it's probably german, so AP could be the maker's mark. Thank you very much

Probably German, made after 1886, which is when the millessimal fineness mark was introduced.
I can only find an A.P., but yours is AP.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I like the lion handle! Sorry, but I can't help with identification of the AP mark.

  12. ¡Muchos gracias!

Lote 433: ADOLF PEGAU, PFORZHEIM (PRES.), BONBONNIERE, 1903
