I found this little gem on the shores of the Danube river, nearby an old fortress. It's silver even tho it has no hallmarks. I wonder what period it might be from?

I see fob seals regularly in connection with my own interests, I would say this is Regency or slightly earlier, Georgian more than Victorian.

    That does make sense,
I also found pieces of clay pipes around that area dating around 1780 to 1810. They obviously just threw their trash into the river?

Yes, people did not think there was anything wrong with it. Wouldn't expect a silver seal to be in the river deliberately. Even if you didn't need those initials anymore you could have the silver used for something else. Is it cracked right through at the top?

    Yes
Well they could have just melted the silver and reused it?
Or maybe it broke off as someone was walking near the river and it got lost?
There were all sortsof shards and broken pieces of plates as well, I managed to date them back to 1780-1810

Nice find. In the U.K. we call finding “treasure” on the banks of rivers Mudlarking.
