Featured Silver cigarette case, unknown mark

Hello

I have a cigarette case bought as part of a job lot of silverplate on eBay. Fairly certain it's silver but haven't tested yet, hoping someone can I'd the style for me.

There is a small shield mark on the inside, but it's rubbed and I don't recognise it.

11.5cm x 7.75cm when closed, 183.6 grams.

Persian style, looks like a Persian or Egyptian mark.

 

I love it, Ratsy. It does indeed look very Persian/Iranian, possibly Turkish.
I don't recognize the mark as an Iranian, Turkish or even Egyptian assay mark, but it could be an unofficial fineness mark or a maker's mark.

 

I think the mark is Persian, needs rotating 90 deg clockwise

 

Could be a badly punched partial 1967 mark, which would make that curved line which is now on the bottom the lion's sword. Still looks odd though, the rest is too linear to be the lion.

Interesting Cigarette case!!! There's some writing in lower left I marked as OP is holding it and that mark on the inside - I'm not sure what it is....but I changed the orientation of it....might or not....help....don't know if there's a bird in it or not.....Should I rotate it differently....did I not get the whole thing....I don't see a 'lion's sword'????!!

It looks like the Iranian 84 mark for .875 fineness now. Badly stamped, but that's what it looks like to me.
