Silver charm - Just two people dancing? Or is a bride & groom?

I *think* it's just two people, but thought I would ask before listing - don't want to miss out on anything.

 

I vote just two people. No veil.

Looks very "swing," doesn't it. I'm hearing Benny Goodman, or Jimmy Dorsey.

 

I was just coming back to say "ballroom dancers". LOL
That's what they seem to be calling others that are sort of like this.

 

It's the Phantom of the Opera without his mask. Or for the less cultured, Niki Lauda and his wife.

 

Had to google that.

It's Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers.

 

Backwards, and in high heels.

 

How many remember the Arthur Murray Dance Studios? He and his wife Kathryn had a 15 minute TV show back in the 1950s, the Arthur Murray Party. They had literally 100s of dance schools across the country from probably the 1930s to at least the late 1960s. There may still be some out there today. I think it was the largest chain of dance studios in the world.

I used to pass one while on the bus on my way home from violin class
It was so cool to watch the people dance by the windows.
This would have been about 1961 or so.

 

We still have an Arthur Murray Dance Studio in my city. It did change from a longtime location a few years ago. Still in the same quadrant of town, but to keep up with the times, I suppose, the Dance Studio is now beside a Starbucks.

 

Anybody ever see the Australian movie Strictly Ballroom?

 

Heard of it, but never watched it.
Will have to look it up.

It's funny even for someone like me who has no interest in dancing, and if you like it you will also like 'Muriel's Wedding'

 

I liked it - don't remember much about it, though. I do remember Muriel's Wedding fairly well!
