Would this be a chalice or something else? Also, as it is not marked what would be the easiest way to make sure it is silver. It measures 5-5/8" tip of horn and 5-3/8"top of bowl varied measurements. Bowl measures 6-1/4"W. chalice1.jpg chalice2.jpg chalice1.jpg chalice2.jpg chalice3.jpg chalice4.jpg chalice5.jpg chalice6.jpg chalice7.jpg chalice8.jpg

Original origin may have been Danish but believe this one probably was made in India. Saw these in import stores several years back. Popular at Christmastime.

Looks a bit too thick for silver, especially on the stag horns.

"the easiest way to make sure it is silver" - or in this case not silver. The ice cube test. Place an ice cube in the bowl. If the cube does not immediately begin to melt (thereby floating around in the melted water) the bowl is not even silverplated.

It depends on which alloy is used ...nickel silver is considered a white brass.
