There is a monogram engraving on the lid and under the lid is "fra mormor, 15-1-1933." I believe this is a wedding gift "from grandmother. Bonus points if anyone can let me know it's vaule :) 5"x4" at about 1.5

I can't help you exactly, but the crown mark has a Bohemian/Czech look to it. The feet of the box also have a look of Jugendstil design which fits with the region. It looks like it may be made from pewter (rather than silver). It may be a little earlier than the inscription perhaps 1900-1910.

Hi - welcome to the forums.

Looks more like pewter than silver to me, the mark looks like a simplified Danish royal crown, it has typical Danish design elements, and see no reason the inscription, which also seems to also be Danish, couldn't have been done when the box was new...

Check out German marks,They used crowns a lot, although usually with a moon as well. Can not see moon in your image.

Danish makes sense with "fra mormor" (from granma).
