    Hello

I am totally ignorant to artwork, hoping someone can tell me if this is worth my time to sell. Frame measures 46cm x 31cm.

hardware is pretty rusted so i’m hoping it has some age.

Signed in lower right corner. S.Tucker or Jucker?

    Thanks

    So I see.:oops::muted:
Having said that:sorry:, if you didn't pay much I'm sure you'll make a profit. It is a cute amateur piece that will appeal to someone.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

VERY Cute scene! And if I'm right, it looks like signed J. Tucker to me. And I also could be wrong, but JUST to the left of that 'J' looks TO ME like there is a weak '84'......but it's not a strongly painted date....IF that's a date........

Don't be! I happen to love "story" paintings, and that one is a dilly! The pony is going way too fast for its immature driver (and friend), and the maid and butler(?) are frantic to get the children back before Mr. or Mrs. Gotrocks discovers the imminent peril of their offspring!

They're eloping. Signpost tells us they're leaving Homeland and heading towards Parson's Green (a name reminescent of Gretna Green.)

It's a sweet painting that many folks would love! I also think that postcard collectors would like it as well.

I suspect this is someone's copy of a chromolithograph.

I thought the same. It is that kind of subject.

There's something not quite right about it. And, to my eye, the back looks artificially aged.

Certainly not what Antiques Roadshow would call "honest wear."

Are we seeing the same painting, Komo? I'm confused.

Sorry Bakers......just shooting from the hip....

Ratsy sounds like he feels he overpaid for an amateur piece...

but, it's not the couch art that we see here so often......with mountains and streams and homes in the bush......that if one were to over pay for......would be really sad !!!

    It's a nice work that's sure to find a home !

    See what I mean ??

I like it and suspect it was done by an artist, probably a copy of something else.

The back is def artificially aged, yet I still feel this was done mid fifties.
Of course it could have been done last year with the brown on the back.
I don't think it matters how old it is. The subject content is cute.
I'd list it on ebay for no less than $95 + economy shipping and wrap well, auction style. Let it take a few spins around the block and see if you get questions or bids!
