These two small faience pieces were recent buys. They are both signed with an impressed signature. Does anybody recognise it? And no, it’s not CocaCola

    Thanks in advance

    John

The colours look Spanish. Talavera and Toledo used that colour scheme, maybe other towns too.

Don’t know if this helps but the name similar and pottery gazette reference attached. Can’t access the page though. Just throwing it out there,(no pun intended)

Doesn’t really look British though, especially the first piece?

Oh, that's a challenge. The colors could be Spain but the shapes and motifs don't seem quite right. And have no better ideas re name. Appears to start with "C" and then a combination of "l"s and vowels.

Following up on your leads (thank you) I am leaning towards Toledo area of Spain although nothing definite yet.

Constantin Colibaba started in the late 19th century and the pottery is now in the 5th generation.

Too funny! When I saw the name ended in "a" my thoughts went to Romania (having a Romance language and all) but could find nothing similar on the internet. Well done!
