Signed, is it Chinese or Japanese? (Hope I have the orientation correct.)

Vase is 10 inches tall, weighs just over a pound. It has some white oxidation (?) on the bottom.

Finish is kind of interesting. Kind of snake skin like --smooth to the touch, though.

Any help with key words, translation, what that white stuff is called, etc. much appreciated. Thanks for taking a look!

I don't know the age, but it sure has a 40s-50s look to me.

Thank you for the translation Khl889. Incredibly helpful and very much appreciated.

Silver and Pat, thanks too. Yes, must be bronze, weighs a bit over a pound. Date wise, I concur, post 1940's for sure. Was thinking 1960's plus or minus just based on the looks.

It is absolutely scratch and dent free, but does have some kind of white residue on the bottom and a few speckles of white on one side. (These spot disappear with water but reappear when dry.) Not sure much is do be done with those because I think any kind of soaking would dissolve the paint in the ovals, unless there is a trick for such things. Would I refer to that as "oxidation" when listing?

    Hi Lucille,
Keep dabbing the white spots with mineral oil. They will disappear without "disturbing" the rest of the wonderful finish.
