Not sure of the name. Pribanic? Cannot find anything about the artist.
    Thanks

What language is "salmo trutta" Italian?

Not sure but the name sounds like from the former Yugoslavian republics.

I just checked - it's the scientific name of the European species of brown trout. So the language is not relevant to the artist.

    Looks like C J Pribanic.

There's a Chris Pribanic, artist and illustrator with a studio in Sandusky, OH.

I can't read the artist's name, but I have to say that in my own opinion, 1000 copies doesn't really count as a limited edition... even if it is numbered.

Why is not a 1000 limited edition? Better than 10000 :).
I would consider limited edition a lithograph that has its stones destroyed after the last copy.

    1000 is a limited edition.

You might say your daily newspaper is a limited edition. It's just not numbered.

If a thing is produced in a volume more than adequate to supply the demand, now and in the foreseeable future, what makes it limited?

Everything is ultimately limited but, for the most part, who cares?

Bob, simply that this is number 31 out of 1000 makes it a "limited edition" by my artistic definition.

I agree that there will likely not be 1000 buyers for this particular fish print in my lifetime, even though I think it is a well done trout.

Here toss some cats at it!

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I believe that limited edition means that a specified number of copies are printed. Whether the specified number is "small" or not is open to interpretation, obviously.
