Does anyone have any ideas how to read this signature? I believe it is Italian.

    Thank you!

I think there must be something wrong with the label on the back. How does a landscape get titled "Cinquall's Dog" ?

That is a good question. It could be a translation issue with google lens as well?

Despite how it looks, think artist's first name is Giuseppe.

I think G. G.... is the authenticator? And the name written on the canvas is the author? The middle name on the back "Labiuez"(?) seems to match the signature on the front?

The line is labeled as being the authentic signature of the author, so I take it to be another instance of the painter's signature.

It may be a mistake to see a Z in that final squiggle. I have been fooled by this before on a cameo signature that looked like Silz but was actually Sll with an embellishment.

I am finding a painter who was named Giuseppe Capone. I do think what looks like a U in the surname could also be an N & the B/F looking letter in the middle could be another of his Ps. However, it really does look like the letter following the B/F/P is an I.

Edit: And Capone died in 1971, so not around to authenticate this work.
