I don't know if this is India in origin. It is a painting, very precise, intricate. The paintings measure 9.25"W x 13.25"H framed is 11-5/8"W x 15.5"H and is on leather-ish paper and is padded. Any help as to what it is and a translation on the name would be greatly appreciated. new 5.jpg new 6.jpg new 1.jpg new 2.jpg new 3.jpg new 4.jpg new 7.jpg new 8.jpg new 9.jpg

It looks like Persian tourist art to me. They use the Arabic alphabet, so it could be that too but the figures are Iranian. Odds are they're from the 1001 Nights stories - Sheherezade and the King. She's singing and telling him stories and he's just relaxing and not ordering her execution.
