I purchased this etching a number of years ago and have never been able to figure out the signature. Any help would be appreciated. I have looked at the signatures of most of the better known artists that did these types of etchings. The etching was purchased in Michigan. IMG_0892.jpg IMG_0893.jpg

Seldeman? I was corrected by a wildlife person (rather sternly actually:wideyed:) that Canada goose/geese is what they should be called. shrug emoji smal purple.jpg

So well done. I found some contemporary wood etchers by the name of Schulman, but no one called August.

    Hi,
Here in New Jersey we have a horrible problem with the Canada Goose. 20 years several hunters clipped some wings of the geese and they were not able to migrate. This was done at the Round Valley lake. Well the next year the geese "forgot" to migrate. Now after many generations the geese are everywhere. Since they are a migratory bird it is forbidden to harm them in anyway. Now we have thousands and thousands of birds which poop everywhere and are causing so many problems. In my old neighborhood the "officials" started to clean up a lake in the middle of town. So they cut down all of the vegetation around the lake so the grass grows down to the water line and as they thought it looked wonderful. Well the geese moved in and the grass was covered with goose poop and people could not get near the lake it was a horrible mess with little kids covered with poop. I told the council if they planted small bushes around the lake the geese would move. They just sat there amused and thought I was a crazy old man. They hired guard dogs and people with sheets to try and frighten them away. Well it worked as long as the dogs and people were there. It ended up costing thousands of dollars every two weeks. They were going to raise taxes to the home owners but they cried out and threw out the council. Finally someone got elected and small bushes were planted around the lake. The birds moved out. It took 3 years for the people to realize they had a problem.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

There is/WAS a guy on Block Island, (I believe he's too old to do anything NOW) but CLAIMED he had gotten a FEDERAL LICENSE (no less!!!) to legally shoot them in one of the ponds as they were contaminating it with all of their poop!!!!! He may have been right.....don't know and never actually saw him shoot one.....the guy was a pretty big PIA himself too, at the time!!!!

I think the background is intended to look like intarsia. Maybe that could be a search term.
