Featured Sidewalk Chair

Plucked this chair off the sidewalk in a very historic neighborhood. Not sure if it’s any good or if I’ll be lucky to get $5-$10 locally for it? I’m leaning towards the latter but I don’t know furniture all that well. Looks like it would have been a nice chair when upholstered but not anything special? Hopefully I’m wrong.

I love sidewalk finds. I still have the oak Lincoln Rocker I found, repaired, and had reupholstered when I was 16.

Your $5-$10 valuation is about right - a 1940's side chair that's had a bit of a tough life. I also have a soft spot for these orphans. If one made up a seat out of plywood, batting and favorite fabric - clear coat the wood, you have a chair with character.

 

Thanks James & Drew! Too good to go in the trash imo but still not great I guess. I’d take all the orphans in and give them a home if I had the space. As it is I need to be selective with what I keep. Hopefully someone will offer that $5-$10 and it’ll have been worth saving it. If not I’ll pass it on gratis and it will still have been worth it. Unless they use it for bonfire fuel.
