Featured She's a brassy poser.

    Think she was a finial at some time as there are flanges underneath that may have helped lock her down. She's filled with a shiny pewtery like material and the are a bunch of rusty wires underneath as well. Can't make up my mind if she is late Victorian or early Edwardian so I'll have to rely on those with more dress sense than me to estimate the date and possible origin.

    Was she possibly mounted to a newel post?

    It could work for that... but seems a bit too late in style .. those were mostly classical, formal Victorian applications. It clearly was part of a lamp of some sort. download.jpg

    What is she holding up to her ear? I stare but I just cant figure it out.

    I think she is just posing with her hand on the rim of her hat. Note the hand is turned palm upward.
