    Hi,
I know some folks here like this type of stuff so I thought I would share some of it. I just bought it so it will take some time to go through everything. From a quick glance, most if not all are from the same family, from 1908-1985. Addresses are in Canada, the US, England and Bermuda. Should be interesting, lots of letters to read.
I've never seen the Salvation Army Pass before.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I love the RPPCs -- especially the one in the car (which might be a photography studio type of car?). And also the "Commandant Bevan and family." Salvation Army? Or some other charitable organization? Can you read what it says on his hat? Oh, wait... you did mention the Salvation Army in the original post!

I'm not sure what the connection with the Salvation Army is yet - lots of documents associated with them.
Should be very interesting. I found the Bermuda connection, link below. It mentions a missing tape, one of the children received it. I think what I have belonged to the son and perhaps some of his parents papers. No tape but I will contact the person that bought all this and see if he remembers anything.
The son was in Calgary for many years and there are lots of photos of the Calgary Stampede parades.

Fascinating, cxgirl! I was wondering about the "variety" of people in the pictures and this at least answers part of the question.

Fig, I believe you are right about the car being a photo prop. When you look closely something doesn't look right.
I forgot the Salvation Army was considered a religion - listed on the military record of I think the son but might need help once I get into this a bit more. I'm thinking the solider in the photos is Private Lionel Arnott Jackson

The women's outfits on that Bevan postcard look similar to those I've seen for Salvation Army or that kind of organization...

So interesting, thank you for sharing. The photo 2nd down, family in the parlor, would have sold me on the entire box.

Thanks folks:) I spent a couple of nights reading some of the letters and started to sort them out but have put everything away until after Christmas. Should be an interesting journey going through everything though.

Last week the fellow that I bought the items from got hold of me to let me know he found an album full of postcards from the same family.
About half of it has souvenir postcards, the other half has RPPC, most I think are family members.
Here are a few - the first one was mailed by the soldier, the 'X' marks the gun shed he slept in. In the 3rd photo, the lady sitting down is the mother of Lionel Jackson - he is the one that kept all this documentation.

thanks bakers! I'm tempted to take all the postcards out of the album and use it for my Halloween and Christmas postcards.
