I picked these up in Rawtenstall on the way back from a fruitless day out in Burnley a while ago. After a search found nothing they had been stood on my windowsill doing nothing. I got them because I liked them really and because I felt the need to buy at least one thing on my excursion. The pattern is very sharp and crisp.

I have just tried another search and have come across this web page.

    http://placedelours.superforum.fr/t15332-verres-charles-x-baccarat-et-autres

I have gleaned keywords such as verres Charles and Baccarat although I'm not entirely what this all means. I can talk about cake and tell egg jokes in french but that's about it.

The goblets have a line across their bases so I guess this indicates pressed glass. Any idea if they are original or modern repros?

    Cheers
