Semi abstract painting

    A painting which gets more comments then any of the two dozen I have is a oil on board, 15 x 16 inch, ca 1950' -60's. Basically abstract depicting fishing boats/fishing nets (there are people visible on the boats/nets). Is the word 'abstract' the appropriate way to describe this piece. s-l1600 (2).jpg

    Not abstract. It is representational but the arrangement of the sales and rigging creates an interesting composition.
