This was a necklace. It is now sealed up tight in a plastic bag as I had the misfortune to look through a loupe at it .
But what are they? Where are they from? What is the meaning of life? ( sorry, scrap that last bit as it’s a bit off topic)
Tourist stuff brought back to get you put in Customs Jail for eternity or recognisable to anyone?
Thanks for looking ( although, take my word for it you may not want to look too closely)
    :)

I've seen those round carved nuts before, as the actress said to the bishop.

My British-Canadian professor was always using that line, sometimes reversed as appropriate (or inappropriate?). Right up there in colorful British witticisms as "sheep and Wellington boots" (if you don't know that one, don't ask me to explain it).

I know I had some similar, might have been a rosary, so might have been a buy from The Holy Land.

There are apparently a variety of Elaeocarpus species with slightly different endocarps that have been used as beads. "In India the species most commonly used for prayer beads is E. ganitrus, also listed in some references as E. sphaericus. The endocarps are also known as "rudraksha beads." I think KSW's look like the spikier ones from the blue marble tree, but I might be wrong. Hard to tell from just photos.

You've known me long enough, so I guessed you'd be an expert on nuts by now.:wacky::kiss:
I certainly didn't recognize rudraksha beads in KSW's nuts (respectfully).
