Hi I recently purchased this desk at a yard sale. It has beautiful carvings on the front legs and is made of tiger oak. Can anyone give me any information on when this might have been built and if it has any value?

The lock mechanism must have been broken because the previous owner removed it and filled it with wood filler which totally depresses me! He left the old front piece and key, so I’m hoping I can use them again!

Hi @LindseyPlataz, did you post your images in the Gallery? If so, you may have it set to Private, which doesn't let us see them.....you'll have to go in and re-set it so we can see them.....making sure each is UNDER 1 MB as well!!!

Hi @Aquitaine. That’s exactly what I did. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. I changed the settings on my album

I'd estimate 1890-1900. Value would be whatever you paid for it. Value of brown furniture is way down; as charming as this desk is I'd be surprised to see it go for much more than $100 at auction here in the U.S. Midwest.
