As I’m still getting responses on my first thread I figured I’d go ahead and ask about another cuckoo clock I have. I’m unsure if it is a Black Forrest, or a early black Forrest at that. It is different from my other clocks as it has Made in Germany on the faceplate. The appearance of the clock is different as well with it seeming to be one piece of carved wood. Thank you in advance!!

For future reference, Forest is spelled with only 1 r. And as far as I know, true Black Forest carvings are not painted.

You may be able to date if (roughly) from the mechanism. What is written on it besides Made in Germany?

The brass clockworks look like a classic design (could have been in constant production), but the rest of the metal looks 1950s or later. So does the wood and the painting.

And, in spite of the name, most Black Forest carvings aren't made in Germany, but in and around Brienz, Switzerland.;) Black Forest carvings is a misnomer.
So if it says 'made in Germany', it is unlikely to be a 'Black Forest carving'.

An early Black Forest carving (from Brienz) would be ca 200 years old.

Thank you @Bakersgma for your Grammatical point out. I have a friend named forrest and autocorrect’s forest to forrest. I’m sure more gramical errors are going to be made. I’m just a uneducated boy from Alabama! And great info @Any Jewelry so most referred “Black Forest” are not Black Forest at all! I have some fence to stretch due to a storm causing tops of trees to break but going to check all the links out afterwards!
